She was born in Providence, a daughter of Carlos M. and Gena (Bettencourt) Brasil, both of South Attleboro.
She had just entered her junior year at Attleboro High School.
She was a girl who was full of life, wrote poetry and was a folkloric Portuguese dancer, and she was a member of the girls softball team at Attleboro High.
